TALLYGENICOM GIVES GREEN LIGHT TO NEW RECYCLING SCHEME
Businesses Benefit from Central Recycling Point for All Their Printer Consumables
TallyGenicom, the leading global manufacturer of business critical printers and supplies, has launched a new recycling scheme across all printer consumable brands. With business users normally having to pay for disposal of their consumables, or just throwing them away as ordinary rubbish, the recycling scheme will remove the costs involved in maintaining environmentally responsible business practices.
Under the new programme, TallyGenicom will supply branded collection boxes to its business users who can then fill them with all their printer consumables, regardless of make or model. Each box will carry a telephone number that users can ring to arrange collection. The second phase of the programme will include a website address, from which users of TallyGenicom printers can download a returns label so that they can post TallyGenicom consumables directly back to TallyGenicom.
The initiative is available now to all business users and will be automatically provided to those entering into the rent-free printer scheme that TallyGenicom launched last month -
www.tallygenicom.co.uk/rentfreecolour - where TallyGenicom will supply and manage printers free of charge to its customers over a period of three years.
In order to efficiently manage the recycling process, TallyGenicom has partnered with a leading global consumables manufacturer who will oversee the logistics of the operation. Once the consumables have been collected and shipped to TallyGenicom, they will either be utilised to create remanufactured product that meets TallyGenicom's own OEM standard or will be disposed of in an environmentally approved manner.
John Sander, Consumables Manager for TallyGenicom explains, "Although at this stage it is not clear whether the EU directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) will include printer consumables, it is our opinion that it will soon become a legal requirement. With this in mind, we wanted to offer our customers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way of disposing of their consumables. It is clear that the remanufacture of cartridges will ensure attractive cost benefits for our customers."
One TallyGenicom customer who will welcome the new recycling scheme is MFI, who last year moved its consumables business to TallyGenicom to reduce printing overheads.
Explains John Sander, "Last year MFI was looking for a way to reduce the total cost of printer ownership without sacrificing quality output. We met these requirements by providing them with our alternative consumables for 200 Xerox Phaser printers that it had installed. With MFI operating a myriad of printing technologies across its retail operation, it was also looking for a way to reduce the build up of its printer toner cartridges, while maintaining its environmentally friendly business practices. We have now met this requirement and our recycling scheme will shortly be rolled-out across its business operation."
